The UNDP held an event to launch their Business Supplier Development Programme to key stakeholders supporting Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) development in Botswana.

Various stakeholders were invited to witness the launch of the UNDP SDP programme as well as the strategic partnership between UNDP and Botswana Chamber of Mines. The event aimed to introduce the SDP and associated Supplier Development Methodology, to highlight the expected contribution the programme would bring to Botswana in its drive for economic diversification, the alignment of the SDP to the Sustainable development goals (SDGs 1,2,8 and 10), vision 2036 as well as NDP11.

The UNDP Resident Representative welcomed all to the event, supported by the Chief Executive Officer of Botswana Chamber of Mines, Mr. Charles Siwawa. The key-note address was given by the former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Ms. Peggy Serame who shed light on the partnership between the Government of Botswana and UNDP and the initiatives both parties were actively working on.
