Financial literacy is pivotal to SME business growth and development. In light of this, the UNDP-SDP held a capacity building workshop on the topic to up-skill its Suppliers.

Objectives:

1. Teaching suppliers under the SDP access to finance techniques to improve their chances of accessing financial support in line with solving cashflow challenges (Pre financing),

2. Sharing of effective Cash flow Management Techniques (pre and post financing) to achieve business process implementation growth,

3. Sharing bank offerings in terms of financial support to SMMEs to create awareness on the pool of sources of financial support.

The training was conducted by one of the SDP consultants, Ms. Sithembiso Gumede Moses who is experienced in training and mentoring on business development and entrepreneurship. It was attended by SDP Suppliers, SDP Buyers, SDP Consultants as well as presenting bank representatives. Represented banks were NDB, CEDA, Barclays, Standard Chartered and Stanbic Bank.
